Meath, Ireland, and her relationship with her stepmother, Angeline, who was once her mother’s best friend. Christina begins to acknowledge the shameful reason behind her own failed motherhood and discovers a dark secret her family has never revealed.
Author Information
Nolle Harrison was born in London in the sixties to an Irish mother. Most of her childhood was spent in the home counties – Surrey, the Cotswolds, Berkshire, and Buckinghamshire – where her mother worked as a housekeeper. Nolle began writing plays in the early nineties. She moved to Dublin in 1991, and shortly afterwards set up Aurora, a collaborative theatre company, working with actors, artists, film makers, dancers and musicians. She has written four plays, Northern Landscapes, Black Virgin, andRunaway Wife, and most recently The Good Sister . In 1997 Nolle moved to the Irish midlands with her partner just before their son was born. It was this landscape of bogs, woods and lakes, and its dark brooding atmosphere, which inspired her debut novel, Beatrice. A Small Part Of Me is Nolle’s second novel and is also set in the area surrounding her home, as well as along the North West Pacific coast of America and Canada.
